About Us
Our Past
In a 1995 speech to the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), Bert Whitehead detailed his system for making fee-only planning available to the middle income market. Later that year, in response to a flood of requests from advisors wanting to know how to replicate his success, Whitehead and six other financial advisors formed Cambridge Advisors, LLC. Over the next six years, they trained and licensed more than 100 financial advisors in the Cambridge System™ .
To ensure the continuity of their work, in April 2002, 70 Cambridge licensees (Whitehead and many founding members included) chose to transition the organization to a non-profit, advisor-governed corporation.
Our Present
Now known as the Alliance of Cambridge Advisors (ACA) and with more than 120 advisors in more than 25 states, the organization continues its work of training and supporting financial advisors within a peer community that is unrivaled in its cohesiveness and in its focus on helping members create ideal practices which model successful financial behaviors for consumers.
